John Siemer "It is with heavy hearts and great sadness that we announce the passing of John Leonard Siemer of Batchtown and Alton, IL, affectionately known as "Grandpa." Surrounded by loved ones, he peacefully departed this world on January 4th, 2024. John was born on June 29th, 1941 in Batchtown, IL. John was a loving husband to his cherished wife Louise Siemer of 57 years, and together they built a foundation of neverending love and companionship. John served in the US Army from 1963-1965. He worked at Olin Winchester for 41 long years. After retirement, his time was spent in Batchtown on his and Louise's farm raising cattle or spending time with his kids and grandkids. John sure did love his naps also and seemed to be able to doze off in even the loudest of settings! He was predeceased by his parents Leonard and Anna Siemer.
