Virginia M. Mortland Hardin - Virginia M. Mortland, 96, passed away on Wednesday, February 14, 2024, at Calhoun Nursing and Rehab. She was born in Pearl, IL on February 2, 1928, to the late Wallace and Mabel (Akers) Lewis. Virginia married Kenneth W. Mortland on February 27, 1949, in Alton, IL. He preceded her in death on June 12, 2007. She was a member of Indian Creek Church of Christ in Hamburg. Virginia worked as an RN, school nurse, and a homemaker. She worked at Alton Memorial Hospital, School Nurse in Calhoun, Calhoun Nursing Home, and as a nurse for Doctor Baalman. Virginia is survived by three sons, Lionel (Frances) Mortland, Myron (Patti) Mortland, and Darrell (Steph) Mortland; one daughter, Karren (Dale) Krueger; one sister, Janet (Roger) Bonnett; ten grandchildren, Donna (Robbie) Egeloff, Ryan (Carlee) Mortland, Jennifer (Joe) Boyd, Amanda (Jerimah) McCarver, Joshua (Katie) Mortland, Michael (Lori) Mortland, Matthew (Emily) Mortland, Mary Beth (Chip) Johnson, Brent (Kim) Kr
