Raymond John Sievers, 66, of Meppen, Illinois, went home to be with the Lord in the arms of his loving wife and surrounded by family and friends on July 27, 2024. Raymond fought hard for 8 years with cancer and is at peace now with his Lord and Savior.
Raymond was born on April 6, 1958, to Edmond and Martha (Kronable) Sievers of Meppen. He graduated from Brussels High School in 1976. On August 27, 1977, he married his first and ONLY love, Cindy Lorton. Together they had five children and gained five more children by marriage: Shawn and Kristin Sievers, Rachel and Ryan Benz, Chelsie and Clint Pluester, Lindsey and Phil McLaughlin, and Hayden and Taylor Sievers. They were blessed beyond measure (and shared many bowls of ice cream) with their 20 grandchildren: Ella, Cade, Mary, Kiera, Walter, Rolen, Warner, Mya, Jessa, Henlee, Isabel, Henry, Raif, James, Ray, Winston, Rodney, Josie, Leo, and Rhett.
