Judith Lynn Stepanek, 77 of Brussels, passed peacefully at her home Saturday evening.
Judy was a graduate of Granite City High School; there she played softball and was on the swim team. After high school she and her family moved to Brussels, where she started a bakery in town. Her baked goods were a well-known delicacy, her turnovers were always a favorite at family holidays, and you'll never taste a cream puff as good as hers. In her more recent years, she worked for local orchards. She loved fishing, gardening, and spending time with her family. Judy was also a firm believer in God and an avid member of St. Patrick's church in Grafton.
Judy is preceded in death by her parents Joseph & Mary (Culiberk) Stepanek, brother Joseph Stepanek, and brother and sister-in-law Richard & Sandy Stepanek.
