Jean Hurley passed away on February 1, 2025, at the age of 78 at Mercy Hospital in St. Louis, surrounded by family.
Jean was born November 25, 1946, in Carrollton, IL to Kenny and Mildred (Byrd) Bailey. She was raised on the family farm in Hamburg, IL considered the "Westside". This farm is now the home of her children and the place where they are raising their families. Growing up on the farm, Jean raised many different horses. She frequently enjoyed trail riding and horse shows.
Jean graduated from Calhoun High School in 1964. Soon after graduation, she began working in Springfield for the Secretary of State. She then moved home and began working at the Bank of Calhoun County, retiring in 2011 after 45 years of service. While working at the bank, she was blessed to make lifelong friendships with customers and coworkers.
In 1970 she married the love of her life, John, and he survives. Over the years they have made great memories with their many friends and family. Je
